The ninth Choose France summit, held in Versailles on 1 June 2026, resulted in 71 investment announcements representing €93 billion and more than 15,600 jobs. According to Business France, this new record confirms France’s ability to attract major international projects and maintain the confidence of foreign investors.
More than 200 business leaders from nearly 50 countries attended the summit. The investments announced concern strategic sectors including artificial intelligence, data centres, cloud computing, space, defence, healthcare, critical metals, energy, logistics and financial services. They include projects covering the entire value chain, from research and development to industrial production.
This investment momentum will also create significant international mobility requirements. The establishment and expansion of foreign businesses in France generally involve the recruitment or transfer of executives, engineers, researchers and other highly qualified professionals. Immigration planning should therefore form part of the investment strategy from its earliest stages, together with employment, tax and corporate considerations.
Choose France 2026 illustrates the close relationship between investment policy and business immigration. France’s ability to implement these projects will depend not only on capital and infrastructure, but also on its capacity to welcome the international talent needed to develop and operate them.
